Nevermind....

I hate school!! I'm convinced my teacher is the wicked witch of the west. She looks like her, laughs like her, and is EVIL!!!! Boo on crap loads of homework, ridiculous research papers, grumpy patients, and wenchy teachers!!

Look what I can do!

I know you want one...... :-]

No really, I have one sterile needle left :-] Any takers?? Block 2 is going great so far! I love it. Passed both my IV and trach care practicums on my first try. First exam... not so good. The next one will be better, I promise. I love poking people with things.... at least dummies for now. I'm still submersed in homework... as is Blaine. We start clinicals at Mercy Gilbert on Thursday! Excited and nervous! Wish me luck!

All good things must come to an end..

So it is true. My dear sweet beloved break is coming to an end Wednesday. Thank you break for letting me enjoy:

Going to the Botanical Gardens twice with my husband. I love visiting you. I can't wait to see you this spring.

Thank you for letting me spend time with my cousins. I love them and miss them... very much.

Thank you for letting me spend time with my family. They are theee best. Especially when the dress up as Santa and pull it off :-]

I don't thank you for letting me spend my first married Christmas sick. That was the pits. I cried for 4 hours straight Christmas eve night because I was in so much pain. You royally sucked.

Thank you for letting me dress up my dog.

Thank you for letting me bury her in our laundry. She's so cute.

Thank you for letting me eat a giant cupcake with my husband.

Thank you for letting me spend my husband's birthday with him. We ate waaay too much.

Thank you for letting me enjoy spending time with my happy husband. He is too good for words. I'm so in love with him.

Thank you for letting me go to Ikea and quote 500 Days of Summer while I was there. Thank you for letting me get a new book case, shelves, picture, and accessories for my house. Sorry I threw a fit in the parking lot.

Thank you for my new curtains and paint. I'm in love with them.

Thank you again for my new paint. It makes me so happy. And thank you again for letting me spend time with my husband. He's so handsome.
Thank you again for letting me eat birthday cake.... 3 times.
Thank you for letting me enjoy my break, get things done, talk to my brother, spend time with Blaine, see my family, and realize what is important to me.

I am reaaaallllyyyy nervous for this semester. I was excited, but not anymore. By the looks of it already, I think I should start digging my grave now. No joke. So, as sad as I am to say it, the blog will once again be put on the back burner. Have a happy spring everyone! I won't :-]

We did it!

We passed our finals!!!! Get ready Block 2, BECAUSE HERE I COME!!!!! I loved Block 1. I learned so much. I saw a lot of gross things, a lot of sad things, and a lot of things that made my day. I did my best, and it paid off. I have to admit, this is one of my proudest moments. I still have 3 more intense semesters to go, but I CAN do it!!! Blaine passed his physics class! He'll be taking a couple of classes next semester. One of which will be... physics... again. And another class that has yet to be determined.... we'll keep ya posted.

Aside from busting our butts in school... I turned 22! We celebrated and went to DISNEYLAND!!! We had so much fun. My favorite aunt was there with her friend (it was her birthday too!) so we got to hang out a little bit. It was an awesome birthday.

And it ended perfect with a villain firework show! It was amazing.
We also managed to find time to go to a car show! And whoever worked on this little gem was a genius. It was probably the most popular truck there.
I also discovered that I am at heart a hot rod girl. I mean... who wouldn't be after drooling over this beauty?
(Yes, my pictures are out of order. Stupid blogger). On our way home from my birthday trip, we also stopped at the one and only Amoeba. Ahh.... I bought the 2 remaining U2 albums I was missing and a Pearl Jam poster. Being in Amoeba is one of the best feelings in the world. I don't care who you are.
And... we also found... IN N OUT UNIVERSITY!!! *Heavenly music playing* It was on Hamburger Lane :-]
(Sorry, I told you my pictures were out of order). Ever since I was little, I've wanted a woody. They remind me so much of home. Growing up I wanted to be a marine biologist, live by the beach, and drive a woody. Well... that didn't happen. So someday, I still hope to own one... Ahh...
Blaine and I also went shooting! My first time. I must say, I don't have bad aim. I shattered a wine glass and shot Mr. Rogers in the neck... natural born killer? Hmmm.... nah. But I do look pretty good doing it if I say so myself.
Blaine looked dang good shooting... and he is dang good at shooting. He helped me a lot. (That's my brother next to him. He's a priest and he's awesome!!) Our house is coming along just great too! We mangaged to get rid of a lot of the boxes. Hooray! Now we're getting ready to paint over winter break (a nice long month off! YES!!) It will be sooo nice... a break from studying, giving injections, taking blood sugars, changing briefs, getting weird looks from old people... but I will miss it. I loved some of those old people. Some of them were so cute and so sweet and some were.... NOT. Next semester I'll be doing clinicals at Mercy Gilbert and I'll be working in a whole new area. I can't wait!!

Even Better Than the Real Thing..

I finally found a little time to update the blog! Very rare these days :-] School is going good for both of us. Our classes are challenging. We just started clinicals at a long term care facility in nursing school. Geriatrics are not exactly my favorite, but I can handle it for now.

Well, as most of you know.... WE ARE FIRST TIME HOME OWNERS!!!!!!! :-] We moved in our house at the end of September. We have almost been here for a month! We love our house so much! It's perfect for us. Not too far from school and work either. I wish I could find more time to organize the house... it's a very slow process right now :-] But that's ok! We'll get there... eventually.

This picture was taken right before we moved in! My uncle, Dad, and Sandy. The brown all over our house is a little strong, but we're hoping to change that soon :-] Whenever soon is....
Also...... WE SAW U2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Here comes the full review ;-]) It took us 3 HOURS from our house to get there, when it really should have taken an hour. There were 2 accidents and concert traffic. I was in tears before we got there because I thought we were missing U2. Turns out they didn't go on stage for another half hour, so we were safe :-] It really was the best concert I've ever been to. They put on such a great show! I swear I was the only one standing and screaming in our section.... maybe 3 others, but oh well. I've been dying to see U2 since I was 8 years old (no joke). Totally cried during "Where the Streets Have No Name" because it brought back childhood memories and just my love for U2. It was soooooooooo good! They still sound and look great! I saw U2, I ACTUALLY SAW U2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure I'll be on a U2 high for the next several months :-]
This is my favorite picture. You can see all their faces :-]
Well, that's about it. Our new home, school, U2..... life is good. I couldn't be happier :-]

What we expected..

Our semester is sooo busy! Blaine is working full time and taking two super icky hard classes. I'm up to my eyeballs in nursing school studies and working weekends. We are SWAMPED! We knew what we were getting into, but man... it's hard. Last week I fainted in class. Very embarrassing. I think due to being overwhelmed, my low blood sugar, and a little grossed out at the time.... yeah.... We managed to find a little time this weekend to go to the ASU vs. Idaho State game. IT WAS AWESOME!!! We kicked Idaho's trash 50-3. It was so fun!

My brother used to get season tickets and sit in the Student Section. I thought of him and pretended he was there :-] Less than 11 months till he's home! I can't wait!

Well, that's our life as of now. School and work and for the next 2 years. I know it will be a rough, but we can do it :-]

Our summer so far

We've had such a busy summer! It feels like we're always on the go. I swear since the day we got married, we've always had something to do or somewhere to go.

Mom and Dad Baker were kind enough to get me a mother's day gift (even though I'm not even close to being a mom) and we got to use it in July! We stayed at the Westin at Kierland Commons! It was like a mini honeymoon! The room we had was sooo nice and the pool was A-MAZ-ING. I've never stayed in such a nice hotel before. We loved it.

We also went camping a couple of days not too long ago. The weather was actually cold! Blaine and I froze the first night and our mattress deflated. That was NO fun. But the rest of the trip was awesome! We definitely enjoyed ourselves.

Our summer is quickly coming to an end :-[ Between working, summer school, getting ready for the next semester to come (yikes!), spending time with family, looking at houses, time is FLYING!

I'm getting very anxious for school to start. It will definitely be the hardest thing I've ever done. But I'm soooo excited! I can't wait to be a nurse and help others. I would really love to work with brain and spinal cord injuries. I currently work for a quadriplegic, and I absolutely love it! Because of her, I have been introduced to the spinal cord injury community. It's very interesting once you take the time to look into it and get to know them. They are amazing people. So I'm hoping that's where my nursing career will take me. These next 2 years will be hard. Don't be surprised if I don't update very much... as I will have NO life :-]

We also just got called to Nursery! Ahhh! We are both so excited! It will be a challenge but I'm looking forward to bubble time :-]

That pretty much updates just about everything for now! I'll try to be more prompt about our updates :-]
