Life goes on

As most of you already know, we moved to the base. We've only been here a couple weeks and are just about situated. Our first night, our dishswasher flooded.

Blaine's not picking his nose. He's "itching" it.... Oh Blaine....

I decided I wanted to try something new, so I took up sewing. My dad got me a sewing machine as one of our wedding gifts. (I'll take that as a hint...?) Blaine's mom helped me sew my first pair of pajama pants. They were less than perfect. So when I told my dad that I was putting the sewing machine to good use, he decided to get me a sewing desk. Thanks Dad! Blaine put it together. My Mr. Fix-it.

Since I had so much fun sewing, I thought I'd try knitting/crocheting. I'm probably getting way ahead of myself, but I've got to keep up with these Baker women somehow. I swear they can do everything. I guess I'm not exactly the domestic type just yet. It will take me quite some time before I'm anywhere near close. Knitting/crocheting is fun! I taught myself to do it. Yay! I find I do better when I'm listening to rock music (preferably something hard... metal). I'll be happy when I'm done with my first project.

My next sewing project is a purse. I bought the Sewing Patterns for Dummies because well... I need to start out as easy as I can. I'm excited to keep learning so I don't need to ask Blaine's mom and sister for help.

Well, that's about it for now. Just adjusting to our new place and loving newlywed life! We hope to have some more exciting news soon! :-]

Moving is a beast.

So I decided to hop on here instead and post some more pics from our wedding! I just got back our wedding day pictures with family and the reception. I couldn't be happier with them!

I can't believe it's over!

As promised, and I thought it would be fun, I wanted to post about our honeymoon! :-] I seriously can't believe it's been almost a week since we got off the ship. It was so nice to get away. Our cruise was supposed to go to Mexico, but..... because of the swine flu, we just got to go to Catalina. Which was super awesome! I highly recommend going there. It's BEAUTIFUL and the weather is soooo nice! Some day we'll own one of the bungalos there :-] *Or maybe that will only be in my dreams*

Our ship!

We took a glass bottom boat ride. It was pretty funny to watch all the fish follow the boat. Haha! The Garibaldis are so beautiful! They're pretty bright orange fish. Actually the state fish. There is a $1,000 fine if you kill one. Pretty intense. But.... you can't see any in that pic. Haha!

Blaine and I took what we thought would be a short walk that ended up turning into a half hour hike, to the Botanical Gardens! It was beautiful! It was really small, but at the top of the hill was a memorial to the founder of Wrigley chewing gum! (I forgot his first name). The memorial was gorgeous. All the detail, stone, and hard work put into it was just amazing.

This was at the top of the memorial. I love the detailed flowers!

Yeah, it was aweome. If you ever get the chance, go! The next couple days were spent on the ship. We saw some shows and activities going on. Not too much that interested us. We tried to play the newlywed game on the ship, but there were at least 10 other couples on the boat that got married the same day we did!!!! I guess you could say May 30th is a pretty sweet day :-] Blaine loved talking to the filipinos. There were tons of them! It was so funny because he'd say something to them in Tagalog, and he'd totally catch their attention. You know they were thinking, "A white boy speaks Tagalog????" It was awesome! Our waiter was a filipino and was always hooking us up. He asked how soon we'd go visit the Philippines and wanted to give us his address, but we didn't see him again after dinner our last night :-/ Dang it!
Once we got off the ship, we went to the Japanese gardens and AMOEBA RECORDS!!!! I miss Amoeba.... I can't wait to go back. We got a couple records, some old Disney cartoons, and shirts for a pretty sweet deal. Too bad I didn't get any pics. Next time! :-]

I am still trying to get back into the swing of things. Seriously, it flew by way faster than I expected. I loved every minute of it! :-] Now it's back to work, school, and house hunting! :-]

I feel so lucky :-] Thanks to everyone who came and made our special day so amazing! Here are some pics :-] (I'll post up honeymoon pics in another post. I'm too lazy right now :-])
