Lucky

I have been doing my OB rotation and I got to work with an awesome nurse. I told her I am pregnant and she started asking me a bunch of questions and what not, I mean we were only labor and delivery! We got to talking and she told me she wanted to scan me and see if we could see the gender of the baby! I was so excited! I asked Blaine if he minded because I felt bad finding out what it is without him, of course he said no. So my nurse took me into an empty L & D room, brought the ultrasound machine and I got to see my baby! Baby was wiggling, kicking, stretching, and moving around just as happy and perfect as could be! We tried to see if we could see the sex, but it was not a clear picture. But, we got a pretty good idea of what it is :-) Look at our baby!!

(I resorted to using my phone because they didn't have a printer set up to the ultrasound machine.... so I did the best I could with what I had)

(I know it's hard to tell what everything is, especially with phone pics)

The baby kept putting its hands up by its face. Oh man, my heart melted. I feel so incredibly lucky to have had such a great nurse who gave me the opportunity to see our baby. I love L & D! I cried every time I saw a baby born. My hormones don't help me at all. I can't wait for it to be my turn! I can feel baby moving around and it is THE BEST feeling in the world! I can't wait to meet this little person that I love so much already!!

Spring Break

Spring break never lasts long enough..... I swear this spring break flew by! Blaine and I started out our spring break by going to DBG and seeing the butterfly exhibit! Even though we go every year, this was my 1st time seeing the butterflies. Little stinkers were hard to photograph.

The belly has definitely popped! We are already breaking out the maternity clothes.... crazy. It's the best thing ever to watch it grow. It gets a little bigger every few days. 14 weeks and baby is doing great :-)

To wrap up spring break, I went to Coronado Island/San Diego with one of my nursing bff's, Carrie! It was so nice to get away for a few days and do some major relaxing. Although, it was my 1st time being away from Blaine.... that was tough. We had so much fun! She is the cutest girl ever.

We found this little guy at Balboa park sunbathing in the cool weather. He was there for hours.... we thought he was cute.

Back to school and the real world this week = our crazy schedules. So. much. fun. NOT. Block 3 is just about any nursing student's dream. It's amazing. Especially going into the OB unit, watching babies be born, and getting to cut the umbilical cord of a sweet baby girl! It has been the best experience of nursing school thus far. Not all of it's fun, or happy, but it's amazing! I can't believe it's all coming to an end in August!! I am so excited! But I am definitely more excited for the arrival of our baby :-) Hurry up September!

Luck or gold rush? Or just embarrassing?

For the past 5 days, my eye has been twitching.... NON STOP! Gah! I don't mind an occasional twitch, sometimes it's funny. But 5 days in a row? Body, really? You can't be THAT tired. Not cool. Especially when people look at you funny because they notice..... But according to Google, twitching in the left eye means good luck or even a gold rush! Did you hear that, A GOLD RUSH!?!!?

Well, my sweet Chi (RIP Chi), died this morning. I decided to go to Ulta to find a new one. As I was talking to the lady working, I noticed she was watching my eye. I wanted to put on my sunglasses in hopes that she'd stop looking at it, but I pretended like it wasn't happening. Embarrassed, I tried to look away and hurry out of there. So I have my new Chi (that happens to be covered in pink roses and looks semi-ghetto, but oh well, I'm Mexican anyway) and my pride is crushed.....

Eye, this has got to come to an end! Unless you bring me luck ASAP.

Weird feelings.

So I'm sitting at home, waiting for Blaine to get out of his class.... I really should be doing homework, but I'm putting it off till tomorrow. Smartest move? Probably not. I found this picture on my laptop. It's from before Blaine and I started dating. He looks so funny with out a beard. Like.... naked. It reminded me of all the butterfly/I'm going to vomit/or possibly pee my pants feelings I used to get before he'd come over or we'd hang out. So as I'm writing this, I'm having all those same feelings as I wait for his call to tell me he's out of class. Maybe it's because I'm tired and feel like crap, or maybe it's because we never see eachother now that we're in school and it kinda feels like that whole dating thing again....? Um, I don't really have an answer.

I love block 3. I love learning about little kids right now. Once I'm doing my peds rotation, I'll probably cry, but I hope to make a difference in at least one little kids life. We watched a video about a developmental test and the little kids were just so dang cute! Seriously, I think I was meant to be in this block. It's wonderful.

I hate Blaine's schedule. Come home already!!!

No more root beer..

I really hate being sick. I never get sick, or if I do, it's rare. Especially the kind where I feel like death. I've resorted to my couch the last few days only to submerse myself in Netflix. I have tried to clean my house because next semester starts Tuesday, and once school starts I won't get ANYTHING done around my house..... but laying on the couch just feels so much better. Earlier I tried drinking root beer in hopes that it would make me feel better. Why? I have no idea, it just sounded good..... it only made me feel worse. Oh, the joys of not feeling well....

And once the semester starts, my blog is going to be neglected. That's ok, it's not too popular anyway. My dad is now a married man! Congrats to him and Sandy! The wedding was small and quaint. I love small weddings.

Have I mentioned how much I love my camera and photoshop? I'm still trying to play with both. Blaine's better than me, naturally. I just like taking pictures.

Have I mentioned how much I love my husband? He's amazing. His birthday is tomorrow! Happy happy 24th birthday my love! Looks like 24 is going to be a good year for you!

Have I mentioned that school starts Tuesday?! Jk. We are both so anxious to start this upcoming semester. Nervous and excited. It's going to be good, and hard. This is going to be a crazy year for us, but definitely a good one. I can tell.

Here's to a new year!

I must say, Blaine and I have sure enjoyed our time off from school. This break was so needed! But I'm also glad the "holidays" are over. Does that make me a Scrooge? Perhaps.... Why is it that they are always so stressful? I must admit, we had a good Christmas! I'm glad no one was sick like last year. I enjoyed spending time with our families. And I loved our tree.

And I loved taking pics of the nieces and nephews. I swear the only people we take pictures of are our nieces and nephews. They just happen to be more exciting than adults....

However, I LOVED taking shaking head pictures.

Best shaking head picture ever!!

Mine turned out to look more like a shampoo commercial.... lame.

Cali got a new jacket for Christmas.... I don't think she minded that it was hot pink and shiny.

I'm so happy and glad that 2010 is over! It was a very difficult year. We had good times and bad, but I guess you could say we both grew from it. I've got a feeling [a feeling deep inside oh yeah...(that song just happend to fit appropriately in this post)] 2011 is going to be a MUCH better year. Here's to an awesome year!!
